Dan was County footballer in his day, playing and winning Leinster medals for Laois at Minor, Under-21 and Junior levels. He missed out on the Senior medal when Laois lost to Longford in 1968. However 5 years later he was on the first Laois team to win a Football All-Ireland medal when Laois won the Junior title in London.

6. Mary emigrated and now lives upstate New York with her four children, Catherine, Elizabeth, Brianna and Michael.
7. Simon N, thats me - most people know me as Noel but I go by my first given name nowadays.
8. Joseph, or Joe, runs the farm and married Joan O'Gorman from Portlaoise and they live in Fisherstown. Their children are Alison and Danny.

My dad passed away in 1995 and it was he, and my mother, who gave me my interest in genealogy. Their family tree records were my starting point.

I am married to Sophie Boujol from Geneva, Switzerland, who I met in Greystones volleyball club. Sophie came to Ireland to learn English and fortunately also had a love for volleyball.

The Boujol Family Sophie was born in Geneva where the Boujol family have lived for the past two hundred years. The family tree has been traced back to an Antoine Boujol who was born in Lavaur in the south of France in 1682. The name Boujol is derived from the French word for a "Well". One of her ancestors, another Antoine, was a musician in Napoleons army. A more recent ancestor on her Mothers side, John Vallier, was responsible for maintaining stardard time on the official clock in Geneva.
Sophie has two brothers Jerome and Christophe both of whom are married with two children. Jerome is married to Corinne and they have Teo and Zoe. Christophe is married to Sylia and they have Noemie and Aymeric

After my employer of 15 years, Interbio, closed down in 1999 we decided to move out of Dublin and choose Rathbride Abbey, Kildare Town, Co. Kildare. The quality of life is so much better, it is less stressful taking my moped to and from work in Newbridge, Co. Kildare each day. Encountering a few sheep and horses beats traffic gridlock anyday!
My Volleyball days are over as well as my marathon running days but they were good times
Today work is at Wilton Candy in Newbridge - famous(!) for the Macaroon bar and Iced Caramels.
